Hi there,

My name is Michael, and you guessed it – I work as a speech-language pathologist.

Before graduate school and my career as an SLP, I worked as a classroom teacher for several years in both the United States and Mexico! I have always loved working with people, teaching them, and seeing how education can change a life.

When I started considering earning a masters degree and began researching speech-language pathology, I found there were not a lot of resources to help guide would-be-SLP’s like me. Most SLP blogs had one post dedicated to the topic of grad school.

I researched, read what I could find, and talked to experts – all of which I documented in my blog: TheSpeechBlog.com. When the site gained some popularity and people began to reach out for advice, I decided to expand the content on the blog into a book – SLP To Be: An Unofficial Guide to Getting into Graduate School for Speech-Language Pathology which was published in July, 2020.

I loved getting to connect with others and share ideas. Now that I am through graduate school and practicing full-time, I started this new blogging adventure. And so, Think SLP was born!

I hope that Think SLP will be not only a place to share materials and resources, but also a place to spark conversations that move our field forward, and ultimately help us to better serve our clients.

Please use my contact me page if you’d like to get in touch.

Stay awesome,

Michael

Financial Disclosures

My own conscience and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) have guidelines regarding endorsements and testimonials to protect you from misleading advertising that’s been paid for by a company or interested party. ThinkSLP may occasionally accept endorsements and testimonials. Therefore I want you to know the following:

  • I only endorse and promote products I trust and use for myself.
  • Affiliate links are used in some posts which may generate a commission if there is a sale. It does not result in additional charges or cost you anything extra.
  • Mentions of related products/services/businesses within the content of my blog may or may not be noted as an affiliate in every reference.
  • If a product is given to me free of charge for review, I will be sure to mention this in my review. My receiving a free product does not guarantee a positive review. I will write my review honestly and openly, and only endorse a product I believe in.
  • My primary goal is to share and provide helpful content, not generate revenue.

Ways ThinkSLP Generates Revenue

  • Ads: The ads you see on ThinkSLP.com are Google Adsense ads. They appear in the sidebar, header, footer, and posts. They should clearly look like advertisements.
  • Affiliate Links: Affiliate links are a way for me to earn a small commission at no cost to you. Let’s say I recommend this delightful mask for sale on Amazon. You click the link. You decide to buy it. Amazon will pay ThinkSLP a small % of the sale price. There is no extra cost to you. I use affiliate links from Amazon Associates and Impact ; this may change over time.
  • My Products: Selling original materials and resources through TeachersPayTeachers.
